"If it were this easy, everyone would become a manga artist."

Manga art is a beautiful art form that needs practise. Please note that this is a class for students who want to learn and who are passionate about manga art.

  • Fundamentals: Basic Drawing Skills

No matter what you draw, you need some basic drawing skills. It starts with holding the pencil correctly. Sounds absurd, but if you want to draw for a long period of time, the wrong placement will cause soreness.

  • Materials and Tools

Students will also become familiar with different drawing materials and tools commonly used in manga illustration. They will learn how to work with pencils, fineliners, and markers, and understand how each tool creates different effects.

  • Character Design

Manga characters are unique and full of personality. Students will learn how to design their own characters by experimenting with hairstyles, face shapes, and details. We will explore how small design choices can make a character look cute, cool, funny, or mysterious. By the end, everyone will have their own original manga character.

  • Drawing from Reference

Students will also practice observing and drawing from reference images. Learning how to study shapes, proportions, and small details helps improve drawing accuracy and confidence. By breaking down complex images into simple forms, students will discover that drawing becomes much easier and more enjoyable.

  • Storytelling

Manga is not only about drawing characters but also about telling stories. Students will learn how simple drawings can express emotions, actions, and small moments. We will explore how facial expressions, body language, and composition help bring a scene to life. This encourages students to think creatively and start imagining their own characters and stories.

  • Intensive Drawing Class

There is also an intensive drawing class. The focus is not on manga art but on improving your drawing skills. The goal is that you will be able to draw anything, not just manga but realism, animals, buildings....
